22077_protecthal.jpgThe exhibition halls at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre are arranged in groups. If visitors wish to move from one hall group to the next, their route leads through outside areas. Although the connecting routes are covered and visitors are protected against rain, in particular the exhibitors on the stands next to the entrances and exits have hitherto been exposed to draughts.

20408_karlsruher.jpgGlass halls enjoy great popularity in architecture. They are an elegant means of connecting multiple structures, and they serve as entrance and reception areas while providing space for bold stairways and lifts. For both users and visitors, they create impressive spaces and a pleasant atmosphere.

Layher scaffolding in Münster arcades4/29/2005

20409_muensterar.jpgScaffolding must be planned very carefully before it is erected. Especially careful preparations are necessary for birdcage scaffolding within buildings. After the demolition of the headquarters of a savings bank in Münster, the branch office of Assmann Beraten und Planen designed the scaffolding at the new shopping centre in such a way that it could keep pace with construction progress. Condor Gerüst, which has many years of experience in this area, provided advice and support.

20410_villingens.jpgMany reinforced-concrete bridges must be refurbished some 30 to 40 years after completion. As a rule, the load-bearing sections must be resealed and the bridge edges, which are exposed to the elements, must be renewed. In the case of bridges over railways, the contact barrier beyond the railing must also be included in this work.

18314_hallegerry.jpgTennis fans will all know Gerry Weber. The Gerry Weber Open is held every year in the stadium of the same name in Halle, Westphalia. As in many other tennis arenas, in Halle too the tennis court is well below the spectators' seats. The sports fans can therefore enjoy an excellent view even when outside the base line, yet are protected from powerful serves and returns.

To ascertain the precise extent of damage to the concrete, the cladding has to be removed.

18317_irseeklost.jpg300 years after being consecrated, the façade and spires of the St. Peter and Paul Monastery Church in Irsee are undergoing repairs. To protect the building against the destructive power of the water, the sheet metal coverings on the almost 50 metre high spires had to be replaced. It makes sense to repair the plastering and paintwork only after this.

Main Post Office in Stuttgart-Vaihingen enclosed with Layher Protect1/25/2005

17126_stgtvaihin.jpgFacade refurbishment in cities usually requires very considerable planning and logistic work. Apart from the actual building work, it takes heavy expenditure to avoid or at least reduce the detrimental effects on the surrounding area from the construction work. The effects on traffic along roads and streets have to be minimised, local residents have to be protected from all sorts of inconvenience and pollution of the environment too has to be kept as low as possible.
