During extension work at the Coppernicus Secondary School in Norderstedt near Hamburg, Germany, using a timber hybrid construction method, the Keder Roof XL from Layher ensured that the construction company OTTO WULFF had efficient protection from the weather during the winter months – preventing site stoppages or damage to timber. The factors behind the success of this scaffolding project were the use of material-saving Layher system solutions, detailed advance planning in 3D including close consultation with the client, and professional assembly by skilled and experienced scaffolding erectors from a specialised scaffolding construction company using the new SIM2Field XR App. Successful scaffolding projects are plannable!
- Digital advance planning in 3D using LayPLAN CAD, and close consultation with the client based on the digital twin of the scaffolding
- Creation of dependable material lists from the 3D scaffolding model at the push of a button, using LayPLAN MATERIALMANAGER – for efficient logistics
- Structural feasibility already verified in the early planning phases by transferring the 3D scaffolding model with all structurally relevant data to the frame analysis program using LayPLAN TO RSTAB
- Manually movable roof structure with three mono-pitch roofs and one double-pitch roof made from the Keder Roof XL – optimally matched to the building geometry, snow loads and work progress
- Allround support scaffolding with wide-span bridging for adjacent buildings and as a central support, using the Layher beam solutions Allround Bridging System and Allround FW System – no more inconvenient roof supports on the ground
- Installation of standard scaffolding decks as walkways, and integration of Allround stairtowers for site access
The right system solution for every requirement – for example Layher’s high-strength beam solutions: self-supporting bridging as a central support for the Keder Roof XL, using a doubled-up Allround Bridging System and Allround FW System for horizontal bracing.

Increasing efficiency in assembly: the new Layher SIM2Field XR App provides digital assistance and checking for assembly work. The basis for this is the 3D scaffolding model resulting from planning using LayPLAN CAD.
