An “Allround” solution for every construction phase

Twelve railway tracks separate the Rauental district of Koblenz from its neighbour, the district Goldgrube. A new pedestrian and cycle bridge is being built to ease the situation. This bridge, with a total length of 450 metres, 80 of which pass unsupported over the tracks, is being constructed by the Heinz Schnorpfeil Bau GmbH building firm, which is carrying out the work without interrupting the rail traffic below. To do this, it was necessary to erect three combined shoring and work scaffolding structures. Handling the high vertical loads and the horizontal loads acting on the structures was a tricky task. However, by using versatile and cost-effective Allround Scaffolding, it was possible to assemble the scaffolding structures using parts from just a single system. 3D advance planning and digital support during assembly thanks to the SIM2Field XR app lent a further convincing boost to efficiency.

High load-bearing capacity due to the use of the Allround heavy-duty column, which can be easily assembled by bundling together four Allround standards at each corner of the shoring tower.

The load-bearing capacity per scaffolding unit amounted to 100 kN. Thanks to the side-mounted Aluminium TwixBeam, it was also possible to absorb horizontal loads.

Digital processes considerably improved efficiency during the project: Detailed preliminary planning in 3D including a check for potential conflicts ensured trouble-free assembly. The construction personnel were able to rely on the new SIM2Field XR app during assembly and dismantling. This allowed them to view the digital twin of the scaffolding in detail and from every angle, while the cropping function also permitted the display of subsections.
The app also contains a smart, interactive parts list function.
